Course Overview

Managers in leading organizations are responsible for charting out the future of their organizations through identification and management of emerging threats, issues and problems, strategizing their strengths in exploiting opportunities, and setting long term goals and objectives. This process is called ‘strategic thinking.’ A recent study of Wall Street Journal of Corporate Human Resources mentioned that ‘strategic thinking’ is one of the top executive skills that organizations are looking for. Today’s environment is turbulent and comprises of various important variables. Therefore, it provides various options or potential solutions to the organizations in order to handle different scenarios. Those options sometimes seem impossible to achieve but with detailed analysis, they become workable and create understanding.

Effective strategic thinking process requires combination of both the detailed analysis and intuition in order to make informed decisions. Strategic thinking is a continuous process in which organizations assess the strengths and weaknesses of the company and analyze the competitor’s positions and industry trends. Decisions are made on the base of detailed analysis. Strategies’ success depends on their uniqueness and successful execution of the set goals. Strategic thinking benefits the organizations in terms of increased financial returns and return on people. Strategic Thinking training is designed for middle to entry level executives of all departments of the organization.

The course will use case studies for discussion, latest strategy frameworks adopted from studies of Harvard Business School and INSEAD. Moreover, group work and interactive sessions will be conducted to develop the participants’ strategic thinking skills.

Course Methodology

The training is going to be highly interactive combination of lectures, group discussions, questionnaires, individual reflections, role plays, simulations and videos.
